Sustaining Process Engineer

  • Troubleshooting resource for Mold Technicians and resource to evaluate out of range processes
  • Keep up to date on injection molding equipment & process technology and teach this to the mold techs
  • Evaluate molding processes to update techniques to improve safety, quality and productivity efficiencies
  • Train all mold techs on new equipment & processes
  • Mentor mold techs thru their development program
  • Coordinate and participate in CIP activities as it pertains to molding processes & procedures
  • Set up, start up and change over production jobs in the presses
  • Support new process sampling needs when work load dictates
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Safety/Environmental:
      -  Where applicable, individual is pre-planning safety into work activities to improve performance
      -  Proactively identifies safety concerns
      -  Complies with Environmental Management System program SOP’s/WI, Policy & Program elements and encourages responsible use of resources
  • Actively participate in continual improvement/innovation, corrective action and internal/external customer satisfaction

Qualifications - Education & Experience

  • Bachelor degree in an engineering discipline; or equivalent mix of education and experience
  • Professional engineering experience
  • Mold Technician experience

Qualifications - Skills & Competencies

  • Knowledge of robotics, automation, equipment and processes
  • Comprehensive and demonstrated knowledge of SPC, DOE, geometric tolerancing and blueprint reading
  • Strong communication (verbal and written), teamwork and organizational skills
  • Ability to identify problems and develop and implement actions to resolve them
  • Strong technical skills in injection molding, tooling, materials, product design, and affiliated processes: to include secondary operations and automation
  • Ability to use CAD to determine if tooling, equipment and part designs meet requirements
